Short Board PP – Making it water tight

I tried a different technique on this board which I thought would save some time. Well it did get the build off to a fast start but it left me with these gaps between the planks which will not be water tight.

So, while I saved some time up front, I now have to go back and fill in these gaps. Pay me now or pay me later…

I fixed this by mixing up some epoxy thickened with wood flour and troweled the mixture into the gaps.

Once I sand this back it will look awsome and the end result will be exactly the same as if I had done it the “regular” way.

Net result is that I didn’t gain any time but i guess i didn’t lose much either.
